Great chapter and nice back info on the CP series. To it seems to be a toss up now on either Franky or Paulie joining the crew (that is if Paulie is still alive :( )

There's some interesting stuff here, most of which has already been commented on. But I have to say I'm still not feeling Franky. These flashbacks haven't really done anything for him as far as I'm concerned, and they seem to be giving much more development to Tom and Iceburg. Even Kohza's flashback appearances had more development than Franky's have had so far.
Personally, I disagree. I already love Franky. :DOriginally posted by Brave Warrior@ Captain Usopp,Feb 12 2005, 06:55 PM

Hmmm.... five CP5 agents.... so is CP9 simply a four man cell or is there somebody else out there as well?
Unless I missed something, Tom built the Gold Jackson without joining Roger's crew, so I'm leaning towards the end result of this arc being that Iceburg and Franky will build the Straw Hats a ship, but Franky will not join the crew.
What we have seen so far just makes me think more and more that Franky's "accident" was nothing of the sort.
Yeah, I figured Franky will do that (how I came to the conclusion that he'll be alone in doing it, I don't know). But.....there's so much to him! Do we really need to learn so much about two different people?

I like that train of thought, Ubiq; the one about Tom's part in not joining. I think it'd be kind of cool for the two best shipwrights in the world to join up and make the new ship... touches that ol' romantic in me.
Hey, it's Carly!
Well, Merry didn't join either.

Like omae pointed out, one awesome thing about this chapter is that the boys found out who Robin is. I'd like to see her and Franky meet.

Nah, I think Nezumi's worse. Nezumi is just spineless. Spandam at least has some motivation.
I see a definite trend of "government agents are sneaky, heartless bastards" here.
I agree that Franky is, right now, much more likely to build them a ship rather than actually join as a crewmember. Battle Franky 37 will probably be the successor of the Going Merry.
Haha! In that sense you could think of the Battle Franky as the child of the Going Merry!
Going Franky, perhaps?![]()
Haha. Couldn't you just imagine a scene like this?
Going Merry is destroyed (somehow) and with it's "dying breath" it summons the Klabautermann to tell the crew that it passes its will/spirit to the Battle Franky, as a parent passes its blood on to its child . . . .
I get the sniffles just thinking about it.
that sparks an idea... could it be that toms last name is jackson... gold jackson
Do fishmen even have last names?
