The first time I saw Kuro, I remembered Freddy Kruger and the claws resemblance. But recently, I was looking at some pics from Frank Miller's Sin City and then something else hit me. Kuro's look and MO are strikingly similar to those of Kevin, the cannibal killer. Sorry for the movie screenshots, I wasn't able to find any descent pics from the comic itself.

The inspirations behind the names of the Franky Family's Yagara Bulls should be obvious (Sodom and Gommorah, after the Biblical cities where sin was prevalent [sodomy--the official name for buttsex--comes from here]).
I want to know if anybody can figure out why they're named that.
Well......the Franky Family is a group of gangster/mercanaries....so they're probably proud to name their badass yagarsa sin-names!
