Instead, if you aren't already an established fan, you will have no freaking idea what's going on because it just throws a bunch of garbage out with no explanation as to why it's there.
    I completely agree!

I think the best/worst example of this is in how they handled Robin.

Just watch her last scene which drops off into nothingness and provides NO resolution for the character while spoiling potential new readers and making her role seem ultimately useless.

And transform it into a giant beam shooting death monger.

That is completely changing it and those are exactly the kind of ideas they should have run with.

How do you figure? If they`re fighting new villains what`s the problem? Furthermore, movies never fit into any serious continuity so what would be wrong with updating at least a few things as opposed to doing EXACTLY the same thing we saw years ago?

I agree that this would also be a positive addition, and yet, nothing.

GOOD LORD. quit comparing it to damn dbz. PLUS, you say it was so bad, cuz they cut stuff out, but then you say you want stuff added/changed. so, when someone says that, you just immidiately say that wouldn't werk! wtf do you want?!?!?

    Proper punctuation?

Edit: As long it made money, I don't think Toei cares one way or the other about all the crap people found wrong with it. And where the hell is that Android 17 thing from anyway Greg?

He's comparing the situations, not the actual shows. Both shows had a recap movie, one sucked, one didn't. His whole point is people are saying "Well they did good for a recap" but no they didn't. DBZ did good for a recap (apparently I've never seen it)
    .
Also, he never complained for "cutting stuff" except I dunno THE IMPORTANT ELEMENTS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPLAINED LIKE ROBIN'S ENDING AND BASICALLY WHAT THE STRAW HATS WERE DOING!... And WTF does werk mean? And who said the movie had to be an hour and a half... they probably could have stretch it to two just by people talking slower.
I just wanted to tell you that the hardest thing I've faced
Wasn't the teasing or the pain
It was convincing myself I wasn't stupid, strange, or lame
And helping others do the same.

Heck, the movie could have been 100 minutes long and it could've probably worked better.

Excuse me, I think I actually stated myself that it`s embarassing coming back to the same point but when it works so well there`s nothing better than bringing out the best example. I take it from your outburst you disagree and if so, perhaps you`d care to elaborate instead of calling on God.

PLUS, you say it was so bad, cuz they cut stuff out, but then you say you want stuff added/changed.
Your use of `but then` here suggests that the second half of your statement regarding my opinion would contradict the first half. However, that is clearly not the case. As such, your sentence here which seems to point out a contradiction really does nothing except point out the obvious: they cut things out whereas I believe they should have added more.

so, when someone says that, you just immidiately say that wouldn't werk! wtf do you want?!?!?
I have to question whether you`re actually reading posts, reading parts of posts, or simply ignoring details. I said multiple times that adding/changing ideas would work and be best. I think the one idea I shot down was the over the top suggestion that Lassoo become a beam cannon capable of destroying a city. That`s something Fire Fist and I BOTH agree is absurd and would not have been a positive change.

In so few words, what exactly are you trying to point out?

I don`t mind people disagreeing (someone has a different opinion than myself???? *GASP*) but at least have some inkling of an idea about what it is you`re talking about.

As long it made money, I don't think Toei cares one way or the other about all the crap people found wrong with it. And where the hell is that Android 17 thing from anyway Greg?
The power of Google Image search. Seems they thought Mr. Black wasn`t cool enough so they added a character from years later in the story. Go figure.

But anyway, you all really hated this movie more then movie 7? There was alot of cool stuff in this movie. Sure some of it was rushed, like Zoro, Ussop, Chopper, and Nami's fight; but the pacing over all was better. Like when the Strawhats actually escaped on the crab, and how Crocodile attacked Koza; then dropped Vivi off of the palace instead of standing around and talking forever. There was also alot more realizm, desparation, and emotion in the way the lines were delivered.

Well anyway, that's my opinion... And I loved the animation. Just imagine how sweet it will look in HD.
Ohh well, maybe my new One Piece Movie 8 AMV will convince you all to like it...

Movie 1, 3 and 7 still hold the spot for the worst, to me.

5 and this one are tied, with 2 being SLIGHTLY ahead of 'em.

Then, of course, my two favorites are 6 and 4 (which are also tied, to me).
    Everything was all for nothing

This movie was just awful. I could not believe how rushed it really was. Toei really needs to step it up for next year.

Movie 3 had some cool fights, so it wasn't a total loss in my view. (My favorites are 4 and 6, since they feel like actual movies.

This movie, however... didn't manage to do ONE thing better than the anime. Nor did they try to make it flow like a movie. Instead, we get..well, crap.

Oh well, here's hoping movie 9 is done by people who know what they're doing. (Movie 4 or 6 team please)

Please tell me your joking. Most of the movie looked way better then the series. The only part that was worse was the Ussop, Sanji, Chopper, and Nami fight. The rest was animated alot better. Many more frames as well. The expressions were fantastic. Also the voices sounded much more desprate and realistic. Not to mention the shear detail of the landscapes, and the detailed battle scenes during the war.

I don't know. Part of me thinks the original anime LOOKED better as well.

The animation, was good, yes. But it was hardly better than the anime animation. (I'm comparing it to the latest episodes. Though most of the time I think the Alabasta part in the anime looked better anyway) And even then, characters looked bleh at random times, the 3D was pretty bland, and well, none of it impressed me at all.

The only thing that I can say looks better than the original, is Pell's death. Other than that, it was either worse than the original, or just mediocre.

Better character design/animation =/= better quality.

Yeah, you still fail, Lobster. Go back to K-F.

It's the internetz. I can be two places at once. :D

Plus the acting was better. (mostly Crocodile's) Do you people atleast agree on that?
Another thing was the cimimatography. I enjoyed that. Especially in the Bon Clay boat scene, when you actually saw his whole body change; when he turned into Chopper etc...

They also had the Alabasta celebration at the end with the fireworks, what was pretty cool =D

And this file had lots of Vivi. =3
    That's +50 points right there ^^

Nah I enjoyed Crocodile's original run through of Alabasta better. He yelled way to much in the movie, and it did not fit with his expression. Like when Vivi and the Strawhats escaped on the crab leaving Luffy behind, he has a ticked yet calm expression on his face, and yells "BRAT!" which looked akward IMO.

And right before he got kicked up for storm, when he was saying "Who the hell do you think I am?!", he was smiling and cocky looking, but sounded crazy and desperate. But I did enjoy how he did sound super desperate, even if I thought it was a tiny bit out of character to sound like that. He seems more like the cool collected mastermind in all situations no matter how rough, and it looks like they wanted to do a different interpretation with this movie.
"Yo. When do you think people die? When their heart is pierced by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! People die....when they are forgotten. THIS HAS TRULY BEEN A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!"-Dr.Hiluluk

Ohh, and one more thing. Toei colored Crocodile's jacket wrong in the anime. The Oda colored the fur green in the manga, however they colored it corrected there mistake by coloring it correctly in the movie. =)

EDIT: And what about the entire scene with Crocodile, Vivi, Chaka, and Kozah at the front palace? That was awesome :D
